Bring back classic Silvertone clean or overdrive tones and own the sound of legends.
In 1963, the Silvertone Twin Twelve amplifier made history. Originally listed in the Sears catalog as Model 1484, the Twin Twelve was offered from 1963 to 1967 and became the most sought after of all Silvertone amplifiers. The unique sound of this amp proudly powers the tones of many of today's top rock icons such as Jack White, Dave Grohl, Beck, Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day), Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys) and many more.
Today, Jackson Audio and Silvertone are making history again with the release of the 1484 Twin Twelve pedal.
An exact recreation of the legendary Twin Twelve amp, the 1484 Twin Twelve pedal can be used as a studio preamp, booster, EQ, or overdrive depending on how the controls are set.
The 1484 Twin Twelve pedal is a partial reconstruction of the Silvertone Twin Twelve amplifier. The 1484 Twin Twelve is not inspired or modeled after the original, but takes the exact schematic from the legendary amplifier and replaces all vacuum tubes with JFET tubes. JFETs are a unique type of transistor that behave very similar to vacuum tubes. Thanks to these JFET features, the 1484 Twin Twelve pedal has the same touch sensitivity and dynamic response as the original amp.
To get every bit of power and tone out of the JFETs, a robust power supply has been created, including a voltage doubler that internally converts 9V to 18V, so the JFETs have much more dynamic response and touch sensitivity compared to 9V pedals.
Each of these pedals is handcrafted using the highest quality components including a polished stainless steel housing just like the chassis of the original amp. Perhaps the most iconic visual element of the Silvertone 1484 amp - the knobs - are no longer in production, so they have been custom made to restore the classic look, in a size to match the dimensions of the pedal.
No detail is left out when restoring this legendary circuit to its original form. A soft-click true bypass footswitch is also included, so your bypassed tone remains intact and the loud pop of switching is a thing of the past.
